Arogya Raksha Yojana clinics are being built in remote areas of rural India where the transport connectivity is low; this makes it difficult for people to go to the network hospitals for minor ailments. Thus, each clinic will have an outpatient facility, a pharmacy and a diagnostic lab where basic investigations will be conducted.
The clinic facilities will be available for everyone in the area but only those individuals enrolled with the Arogya Raksha Yojana plan can avail free outpatient services. Other patients will pay a nominal consultancy fee of Rs.5.00. All patients will have access to the discounted generic drugs available at Biocare Pharmacies and lab facilities.

Two clinics are operational in Huskur village and Kanakapura town. In the next few months four such clinics will be inaugurated. On an average each clinic attends to 40 to 50 patients everyday. The clinic will serve as an important first point of contact where villagers will be treated by the doctor. They will be guided to specialty hospitals when necessary.

Preventive Health Education
The most effective health interventions are public health measures to prevent the spread of communicable diseases and to improve overall health. Therefore an important feature of community based health services is a component to deliver health and sanitation education. The trust conducts programmes to educate the villagers on the importance of basic hygiene measures in their households that will go a long way to preventing illnesses.

The primary focus of these programmes is:
* Basic hygiene and sanitation
* Environmental sanitation
* Reducing infant mortality;
* Child health and nutrition;
* Women’s Health.
* Empowerment of women.

Biocon Foundation will organize the education programme in coordination with grass root NGO’s in both Taluks. For details log on to www.bioconfoundation.org
