Polymer Chemistry
Syngene’s polymer group designs and develops various synthetic routes for organic/ inorganic monomers and macromonomers, using reported or novel reaction schemes. Synthesis and characterization of silicon and fluorine based new monomers, dextran and lactic acid based biomacromonomers and further various specialty macromonomers are some of the critical synthetic talents that exist with the group.
Polymerization Techniques
We have experience in conducting radical, anionic, multiphase (emulsion/suspension) and metal catalyzed polymerization reactions to achieve homo, random and block copolymers with well-defined macromolecular structures. Expertise in handling high pressure reactors to conduct polymerization reactions and further hydrogenations of polymers in batch reactors (scale: 1 gm – kgs), from lab to pilot scale, are added critical skills.
The polymer team has particular talent in handling, synthesizing and fine tuning polymerization catalysts using highly sensitive reagents like aluminum alkyls, butyl lithium’s metallocenes. Access to advanced analytical facilities within the organization provides an edge in executing projects with complete Structure – Property – Performance relationships.
Polymer Custom Synthesis
The polymer group has a team dedicated to the delivery of an identified process development and optimization from lab to pilot to manufacturing scale. We have hands on experience in slurry, solution and bulk polymerization to produce specialty and biopolymers. |
