Prasad Deshpande

Head of Supply Chain and Central Engineering

Prasad Deshpande is the Head of Supply Chain and Central Engineering at Biocon Limited. He joined Biocon in March 2011.

With over 26 years of experience in supply chain management and contract manufacturing, Prasad has handled assignments in the U.S, India, Belgium and Singapore.

Prasad also spearheads efforts in Central Engineering, such as power and energy self-reliance. Building a renewable energy-driven organisation is one of his dream projects.

Prasad started his career with Kirloskar Oil Engines, where he worked for 2 years. He later moved to the U.S., where he worked with Pfizer for 13 years in various leadership positions.

Prasad specializes in Operational Excellence and Lean Improvement, Global End-to-End Supply Chain Management, Contract Manufacturing and Pharmaceutical Outsourcing in Asia Pacific

He has a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pune and an MS in Manufacturing Management from the University of Toledo.
