13 February 2026

Following Biocon’s Q3FY26 results, Shreehas Tambe, then CEO & Managing Director of Biocon Biologics, spoke to CNBC-TV18 about the quarter’s performance, the Company’s GLP-1 launches, and its deleveraging trajectory.

“We’ve seen growth which has been phenomenal — for the particular quarter we saw 9% year-on-year on the revenues, but we’ve seen a much higher growth on the EBITDA margins, which is over 40% growth, which took us to 28% EBITDA margins this particular quarter,” Tambe said.

On Liraglutide: “We were the first to get approval in the UK. We’re the first to launch. We’ve had a very successful launch in Europe, Germany in particular. We are seeing approval coming up shortly in the US as well.”

On debt: “When we actually did incur that acquisition debt, we were at a ratio where the debt-to-EBITDA ratios were at 4x or 4.2x. At this stage we are at 2.5x, and we’ve already guided that it would go below two and closer to one, which would really be a very comfortable place for any company of our size and scale to be.”
