Biocon Q1FY27 Total Income at Rs 4,391 Cr, Up 9%; EBITDA at Rs 902 Cr; Net Profit at Rs 141 Cr; Biopharma Revenue Up 17%

Biocon Limited (BSE code: 532523, NSE: BIOCON), an innovation-led global biopharmaceuticals company, today announced its consolidated financial results for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30, 2026.

FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

  • Consolidated operating revenue increased 10% YoY to Rs 4,336 crore, driven by strong growth in the Biopharma business.
  • Biopharma revenue grew 17% YoY, driven by momentum from recent biosimilar and generic product launches across key markets.
    • Biosimilars revenue increased 16% YoY to Rs 2,855 crore.
    • Generics revenue increased 21% YoY Rs 760 crore.

  • Services revenue decreased 16% YoY to Rs 736 crore due to continued impact of challenges faced last year.
  • Consolidated EBITDA stood at Rs 902 crore, with a margin of 21%, supported by improved profitability in the Biopharma business, which helped offset continued challenges in the Services business.
  • Interest cost at Rs 213 crore, down 23% YoY from Rs 277 crore, following the actions taken to strengthen Biocon’s balance sheet.
  • Net Profit before exceptionals was Rs 145 crore.

North America
  • Growth in North America region was driven by the ramp-up of recently launched biosimilars, including ​Bosaya™ and Aukelso™ (biosimilar Denosumab) in the U.S., coupled with stable performance in the oncology portfolio.
  • Commercialized Yesafili™ (aflibercept-jbvf) in the U.S., in August, as an interchangeable biosimilar Aflibercept.
  • Secured Health Canada Notice of Compliance (NOC) for Yesintek® (biosimilar Ustekinumab) autoinjector pen.
  • Commercialized generic Liraglutide in the U.S.
Europe
  • Commercialized Evfraxy® (biosimilar Denosumab), for bone health, across multiple European markets.
  • Commercialized Abevmy® (biosimilar Bevacizumab) from oncology portfolio in Czech Republic and Switzerland.
Emerging Markets
  • Expanded market access through multiple product approvals and commercial partnerships across Emerging Market countries.
  • Secured approval for Yesafili™ as Malaysia’s first biosimilar Aflibercept.
  • Maintained strong market leadership for biosimilar Bevacizumab franchise in Brazil.

BUSINESS PERFORMANCE – Services

  • Signed MoU with BRIC-Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) for early and late-phase clinical development, translational research, and bioanalytical sciences. The collaboration will enable the evaluation and execution of First-in-Human (FIH) and Phase I clinical programs, along with bioanalytical, biomarker and patient-based clinical research programs.
  • Continued to strengthen Syn.AI, an AI-enabled scientific platform for accelerating drug discovery services, by developing giga scale virtual screening capabilities. This will enable screening and prioritizing larger libraries of molecules, accelerating the identification of promising drug candidates.
Board Updates
  • Bobby Parikh has completed his term as an Independent Director of the Company with effect from the close of business hours of July 22, 2026.
  • Nicholas Haggar shall complete his term as an Independent Director of the Company with effect from the conclusion of the ensuing 48th Annual General Meeting of the Company scheduled to be held on August 6, 2026.
  • The Board places on record its appreciation for their valuable services and contributions during their tenure with the Company.
